“This paper sets out the results of the first count and analysis made of a year’s correspondence between a Member of Parliament and his constituents, and between that Member and others on behalf of his constituents. The 5,000 or more letters classified in this study represent the constituency correspondence of Tony Benn, Member of Parliament for Bristol South East, in the year April 1st, 1972, to March 31st, 1973.”
