“Mr. President, your Majesties, Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen, the economic situation in numerous countries in course of development has been worsened during the last 10 years by reason of the exploitation and stealing of resources by the imperialist powers. If the latter have been forced to retreat in certain cases, that is only because of concerted action on the part of the exploited countries. We would like to say how greatly we have been encouraged by the struggle conducted by numerous nations of the Third World, amongst which the example given by the Democratic and Popular Republic of Algeria has been one of the most encouraging – to consolidate their economic independence in the face of attempts by imperialist and neocolonialist powers to sabotage the foundations of their political independence.”
